2nd Army Region Warns Public to Avoid Suspicious Drone Debris Potentially Modified as Explosives

The 2nd Army Region summarized the situation along the Thailand-Cambodia border and issued a strict warning to avoid suspicious objects resembling drone debris and items fallen from drones, as these have been found modified into improvised explosive devices.

On 16 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the 2nd Army Region Operations Center provided a situation summary along the Thailand-Cambodia border as of 16 Dec 2025 at 11:00 a.m. GMT+7. It reported that over the past eight days, Cambodia has continuously adjusted its operational patterns amid pressure from our operations in key areas, with the following military operational trends against our forces during this period.

Land border areas: Cambodia is reinforcing strongholds and shifting forces into full defensive postures, aiming to fix our forces in place and delay their advance as long as possible.

At Chong An Ma area: Cambodia is experiencing severe command problems, with pressure mounting to the point they may have to withdraw to a secondary defensive line; otherwise, they risk complete encirclement.

Satta Som – Don Traw – Sam Tae areas: Cambodia employs a 'shoot and relocate' support firing tactic to reduce the risk of our counterfire, reflecting their efforts to survive under our fire dominance.

Phra Viharn – Huai Tamaria areas: Cambodian forces strictly limit movements and conceal troops and equipment to avoid detection and destruction from our firepower.

Phu Ma Kuea area: This key observation post is under continuous concentrated Cambodian fire to limit our surveillance and targeting capabilities.

Chong Chom – Chong Ray – Plot Tang areas: Cambodian supply routes have been significantly severed, putting rear areas at risk, which critically threatens frontline force sustainability.

Chong Kana area: Cambodia attempts to concentrate firepower using multiple BM-21 rocket launchers for harassment, but this tactic carries high risks of detection and destruction by our forces.

Prasat Ta Kwai – Hill 350 areas: Cambodia tends to conduct delaying actions using reinforced strongholds and ambush tactics to fix our forces and buy time.

Chong Krang area: Cambodia fires protective barrages on request to disrupt our advances; last night, this caused losses to our forces during combat operations.

Prasat Ta Muean area: Cambodian forces have clearly lost combat capability due to shortages of weapons, ammunition, explosives, and armored vehicles, likely forcing withdrawal or a last-ditch resistance to preserve unit honor.

The public is warned that if suspicious objects resembling drone debris or items fallen from drones are found, they must not be approached under any circumstances. These items have been found modified into improvised explosive devices that can be triggered by impact, remote detonation, or static electricity in the area, causing explosions. Anyone spotting such items should immediately notify authorities or call the security hotline at 1374 for everyone's safety.

The 2nd Army Region confirms it is closely monitoring the situation and fully committed to protecting sovereignty and public safety. The public is urged to follow official information and trust in the security forces' duties.
