The Army spokesperson stated that efforts are underway to locate and recover the bodies of two soldiers who went missing after the assault on Hill 350 last night. The Army revealed that the environment following the assault was unfavorable, necessitating a return to planning before attempting the recovery operation again.
Regarding the situation on the Thai-Cambodian border on 17 December 2025, Major General Winthai Suwaree, the Army spokesperson, reported that Thai troops assaulted to take control of Hill 350 near Prasat Ta Kwai in Surin Province during the previous evening. The Thai side launched the assault to apply pressure but faced heavy resistance. Upon withdrawing, two soldiers were missing. The unfavorable environment—limited visibility, geographical obstacles, landmines, and enemy fire—made immediate search operations unsuitable at that time. Therefore, the troops withdrew to plan and intend to conduct the recovery operation again today, mobilizing search efforts both on the ground and from the air to retrieve the personnel.
