Queen Tiger Flower Blossoms Early on Phu Lom Lo Peak

The Queen Tiger Flower on Phu Lom Lo peak is blooming earlier than every year, with 40 percent already in bloom. It is expected to reach full bloom at 100 percent, turning the area into a "Pink Valley" from late December through January 2026.

On 17 Dec 2025, reporters reported that the Queen Tiger Flower also known as "Thailand's Sakura" on Phu Lom Lo peak, within Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park, Nakhon Thai District, Phitsanulok Province, has begun blooming at about 40 percent across more than 1,200 rai of planted area. This creates a vibrant pink atmosphere along the mountain range amid cold weather. It is expected to reach full bloom at 100 percent, becoming a "Pink Valley" from late December through January 2026.

Officials stated that this year the Queen Tiger Flower has bloomed earlier than usual due to cold weather, with temperatures dropping rapidly and cooler than normal. This caused the trees to shed leaves and produce flower clusters earlier than scheduled. Currently, many areas show numerous pink flower buds, and some trees have started blooming. The flowering is expected to continue progressively, especially during the upcoming weekends when tourists will be able to enjoy the beauty more clearly.

Phu Lom Lo is a major natural tourist highlight of Phitsanulok Province and the largest site for viewing Queen Tiger Flowers in Thailand. It is located at the junction of three provinces: Phitsanulok, Loei, and Phetchabun, with a peak elevation of 1,542 meters above sea level. The planting of Queen Tiger Flowers has been ongoing since 2009 to restore degraded forest and watershed areas. As a result, there are now tens of thousands of these trees divided into seven large plots.

The popular Queen Tiger Flower viewing spots on Phu Lom Lo include three main points: the "Cattle Corral" viewpoint, where visitors can see pink flowers covering the hills; the "Big Rock" spot, featuring a large rock backdrop against the pink flower fields, ideal for photography; and "Phu Khee Tao," which has three to four contiguous flower plots offering various angles for viewing and photos. If the flowers bloom simultaneously across the mountain this year, it will create a stunning pink mountain landscape.

For travel, tourists can use Route 12 (Phitsanulok–Lom Sak) to Ban Yaeng intersection, then continue on Highway 2013 toward Nakhon Thai District. From there, turn right at Ban Nong Ka Thao to enter Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park, totaling about 134 kilometers. When the park announces the start of the tourist season, private vehicles will not be allowed to go up Phu Lom Lo for safety reasons. Visitors must use shuttle services operated by the Ban Rong Kla community.
