Update on the Thailand-Cambodia border situation: On the evening of 17 December 2025, Lieutenant Colonel Kanyanat Pornnipatkul, Assistant Spokesperson for the Royal Thai Army, reported that the Eastern Task Force confirmed the loss of one more Thai soldier at Ban Nong Jan in Sa Kaeo Province. The situation escalated again on 16 December starting from around 14:30. The army will provide further details on the number of wounded personnel later.
It was found that Cambodian forces attacked with BM-21 rockets, impacting not only military targets but also civilians in Sa Kaeo Province. Authorities urge residents to stay in safe areas such as shelters and bunkers. Meanwhile, the situation at Hill 350 in Surin Province remains unsettled with ongoing clashes between both sides. Local soldiers confirm they continue efforts to control the area and are preparing to bring back the bodies of two soldiers for religious rites. The army will provide updates once the bodies have been recovered.
