The Army denies Cambodia's allegations and confirms that Thailand attacks only military targets. The situation is currently under control.,
On 18 Dec 2025 at 13:00, Cambodia's National Television news department broadcast an infographic accusing Thai forces of waging a destructive war against Cambodia, impacting infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and key buildings, and causing damage to World Heritage sites and culturally significant ancient monuments.
Major General Winthai Suwaree, the Army spokesperson, explained that these allegations are untrue and completely distort the facts. The Army affirms that Thai operations focus solely on military targets, supported by data and evidence that may be presented at a suitable time.
Regarding ancient monuments and buildings, the Army confirms that these areas are clearly connected to military operations, both directly and indirectly. In cases where ancient sites are affected, Cambodia must take responsibility, because using these sites for military activities that threaten Thailand causes the sites to lose their protection rights immediately.
When Thai forces conduct military actions against military targets, they do so precisely and only as necessary, affecting only relevant parts. They confirm there is no impact on uninvolved civilians. This approach limits damage strictly to necessary areas and is not a broad destruction of entire zones, adhering to legal frameworks and international humanitarian principles.
Regarding the latest situation, the Army spokesperson stated that overall events are proceeding according to plan, with no concerns at this time. Most key military objectives outlined in the Army's plan have been achieved. Only a few remain, requiring careful operations to minimize losses on our side, in line with the Commander-in-Chief's policies and concerns.
Currently, the targets assigned by the Commander-in-Chief are to establish the border line along the Thai operational line and to rapidly destroy Cambodia's military capabilities that threaten Thailand.
Up to now, the overall military operation shows positive trends. Although some obstacles remain, the overall results continue to be favorable to Thailand.
