Border Situation in Sa Kaeo Province: Air Force Strikes Ammunition and Explosive Stockpiles in Poipet-Srisophon

The First Army summarized the border situation on the Sa Kaeo side, stating that the Air Force conducted airstrikes destroying Cambodian military units and ammunition-explosive stockpiles in "Poipet" and Srisophon District opposite Aranyaprathet District. These posed threats to Thai soldiers and civilians. The operation was confirmed not to have affected Cambodian civilians or unrelated individuals.

On 18 December 2025, the First Army Operations Center summarized the Thai-Cambodian border situation in Sa Kaeo Province at 18:00 GMT+7. The Burapha Task Force has been protecting sovereignty amid the Thai-Cambodian conflict for 11 days, involving heavy clashes to secure territory as follows.

Area of Ban Khlong Phaeng, Ta Phraya District. Our forces employed strategic tactics and supporting weapon fire to seize and control the open terrain area. Cambodian forces defended fortified positions, continuously firing BM-21 rocket launchers, artillery, and grenade launchers.

Area of Ban Nong Ya Kaeo, Khok Sung District. Our forces applied strategy and supporting weapon fire to secure and hold the area. The Cambodian side continued resistance with BM-21 rocket launchers, artillery, and grenade launchers, while attempting to reinforce to counter our forces.

Area of Ban Nong Chan, Khok Sung District. Our forces used strategic tactics and supporting weapon fire to seize and control the area. Cambodian forces held fortified positions and continuously fired BM-21 rocket launchers, artillery, and grenade launchers.

Today, the Air Force conducted airstrikes on Cambodian military targets identified as military unit locations and ammunition-explosive stockpiles in the Poipet area and Srisophon District opposite Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province. These targets represented threats to the safety of Thai soldiers and citizens. The mission did not affect Cambodian civilians or uninvolved parties.

Regarding personnel injured during the ongoing situation, today there was one new injury reported. Since 8 December 2025 to present, there have been 64 injured and 4 fatalities. In the border areas of Sa Kaeo Province covering four districts, the provincial government and relevant agencies have established 41 temporary shelters housing 18,874 people.

The First Army reaffirmed its commitment to fully carry out its mission. Military operations will proceed under rules of engagement and the right to self-defense until threats in the Sa Kaeo border area cease, prioritizing Thailand's sovereignty and the safety of its people.
