The intense conflict continues. "Thai soldiers" fired to block supply routes and delivery of provisions, applying pressure. "Cambodian soldiers" Local residents in the area have begun gradually returning home, although security authorities have not yet authorized this.
On 19 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reports from Chong Chom border, Dan Subdistrict, Kap Choeng District, Surin Province, indicated that around 21:00 on 18 Dec, Thai troops fired over 30 artillery rounds intermittently before the firing ceased until the quiet continued into the morning. Meanwhile, at Prasat Ta Kwai and Hill 350 in Phanom Dong Rak District, where fierce and continuous fighting has occurred over several days, Thai soldiers opened fire on Cambodian forces from about 4 a.m., with intermittent bursts until morning, though less frequent than in previous days.
It has been reported that the artillery fire aimed to block supply routes and cut off food and water deliveries to Cambodian troops attempting to reinforce positions at Hill 350, who were hiding in rock crevices and bunkers in the forested mountains. This has made it difficult for Thai forces to control the area, prompting periodic artillery strikes to disrupt the supply lines and pressure Cambodian soldiers. Information indicates that Cambodian troops at Hill 350 are currently exhausted due to lack of water and food.
Meanwhile, the atmosphere on the Surin border remains quiet and deserted, especially along the commercial road in the Chong Chom border market area, Dan Subdistrict, Kap Choeng District, where shops have been closed for the 12th day amid ongoing fighting.
Additionally, at various shelters, some residents from the border subdistricts of Sangkha and Buachet districts have started gradually returning home. Since no Cambodian troops have fired shells into these areas since the fighting began, locals decided to return out of concern for their livestock and crops, despite local authorities and security forces not having yet authorized reentry until the Cambodian forces are neutralized.
