On 19 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the Joint Press Center for the Thai-Cambodian Border Situation clarified the facts regarding reports of a Thai unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) crashing in Poipet, Cambodia. They stated the report is true: the UAV model DP-20 lost control on 17 Dec 2025 GMT+7 at around 20:00.
The last signal from the UAV was detected about 10 kilometers east outside Poipet city.
The UAV model DP-20 was developed by the Defence Technology Institute under the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Defence. It is currently in the research and trial phase and has been deployed to support army missions.
The military is currently investigating the cause of the loss of control, which could be due to multiple factors. Once a clear conclusion is reached, the information will be used to improve and further develop the UAV model for enhanced performance.
