On 20 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Rear Admiral Parat Rattanachaiphan, Navy spokesperson, stated that prior to the attacks on three houses, Cambodia attempted several provocations. On 9 Dec 2025 GMT+7, an incident forced the Navy to engage in combat with Cambodian forces.
This occurred because Cambodian forces used a sniper to ambush and shoot at the naval unit commander, a senior leader, but fortunately the bullets hit the vehicle and door instead.
However, after the fighting ends, the Navy will reveal all evidence, including the vehicle and bullet heads.
