On 20 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reporters reported that at Border Patrol Police Region 23 in Sakon Nakhon Province, Police Colonel Sipphanon Sonkhunkaew, Deputy Commander of Border Patrol Police Region 2, opened a training project on 19–20 Dec 2025 GMT+7 to improve the efficiency of weapons use and tactics for police officers. The aim is to elevate the capabilities and readiness of personnel to carry out security missions along the border.

The purpose of this project is to equip personnel with proper, safe, and effective skills in handling their firearms, building confidence in border operations. It also aims to develop the capacity for mutual support at the small unit and company levels, ensuring maximum readiness before real missions.

The training serves to test and evaluate personnel readiness and raise combat preparedness of Border Patrol Police Region 23 both at individual and company levels, enabling effective responses to security situations. The target group includes 120 police officers divided into four companies of 30 each, focusing on proficient individual firearm use and coordinated company-level firing.

At the appropriate time, an official opening ceremony was held to demonstrate readiness and commitment to strengthening the Border Patrol Police personnel’s capabilities, preparing them to maintain peace, order, and national security.

Police Colonel Theerasak Wongsrima, Commander of Border Patrol Police Region 23 at Srisakulwong Camp, stated that this training follows the policy of the Border Patrol Police Commander to keep the unit ready to support border missions. Another mission is to assist in drug suppression. The goal is for personnel to be well-prepared in weapon use and tactics appropriate to the situation. If deployed to support missions in areas like Khao Phra Wihan or other border zones, personnel will be prepared to reduce injuries and casualties.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Thiwphet Saenkhot, squad leader of Border Patrol Police Region 23, said this training supports Border Patrol Police Regions 21 and 22 in border areas. It allows all personnel to review their firearm handling to maintain readiness for border and drug suppression duties. When asked if they are ready, he replied simply, "We are warriors."
