
The bodies of two "Heroes of Hill 350" soldiers were taken for autopsy at Surin Hospital before the repatriation ceremony scheduled for tomorrow. Meanwhile, Sergeant Roeng's family hurried to come receive the body, expressing great joy that her husband's remains were recovered.
According to the Second Army's report on the border situation at Prasat Ta Kwai near Hill 350, forces have been conducting clearance operations at three locations since 16 December 2025. Initial results showed control of two locations: Prasat Ta Kwai and the Cambodian troop assembly point. However, upon clearing the final location, Hill 350, Cambodian forces responded fiercely, resulting in the deaths of Sergeant Major Samroeng Klangprakorn and Private Phanupat Saosa, both from the 3rd Infantry Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, during their mission. After continued military operations, the unit secured Hill 350 on 20 December 2025 and recovered the two bodies at approximately 12:00 noon today.
Later, at 15:15 on 20 December 2025, at Surin Hospital, officials conducted autopsies and treated the wounds of Sergeant Major Samroeng Klangprakorn and Private Phanupat Saosa, both from the 3rd Infantry Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, who died during duty. Afterwards, the bodies were taken to Weerawattayothin Camp Hospital.
At the same time, Sergeant Major Samroeng Klangprakorn's family traveled from Buriram Province to Surin Hospital. His wife said she had prayed to find and recover the body, which was fulfilled. She expressed great happiness that her husband's remains were recovered.
Then, at 18:30, a vehicle from Weerawattayothin Camp Hospital collected the bodies of Sergeant Major Samroeng Klangprakorn and Private Phanupat Saosa for safekeeping. Tomorrow, a military honor guard will conduct a ceremony to send the deceased for religious rites at their hometowns. The ceremony will be presided over by Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
