Latest reports indicate that after the incident, Sergeant Major Therdpong Phomnara suffered an amputation of his right ankle but remained conscious and alert. He was airlifted by helicopter to Tak Sin Camp in Mueang Chanthaburi District, then transferred by ambulance to Phra Pokklao Hospital for treatment. He arrived under medical care at 10:50 a.m.
