Updates on the Thai-Cambodian border situation on 21 Dec 2025 report that in Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province, authorities issued warnings to residents and Village Defense Volunteers, especially in seven subdistricts, ordering evacuations. These areas are considered at risk due to anticipated intensified military operations. Volunteers have been instructed to stay in or near shelters and closely follow orders from district officials. Unauthorized persons and evacuees are strictly prohibited from entering the danger zones.
Continuous artillery fire has been reported, notably around Chong Sam Tae, Chong Trawl, and Chong Ta Thao. After 18:00, several suspicious and enemy reconnaissance drones were observed flying at high altitudes, preventing any successful attempts to shoot them down.
During patrols, Village Defense Volunteers found three artillery shells had landed near communities close to the border. Upon inspection, all three shells fell outside residential areas, specifically in rubber plantations and cassava fields.
Additionally, during patrols, volunteers encountered two suspicious men who entered the area. When questioned, they claimed to be from Surin Province and said they were visiting relatives near the border. The men were detained and handed over to police for further investigation.
