The family said that Wayu greatly loved and admired the likay performances of the Sornram Nampech troupe and was a devoted fan who followed their work closely. Recently, this news reached Nong Bank Sornram, the lead actor and owner of the popular likay troupe.
At 8:00 p.m. on 21 December 2025 GMT+7, reporters visited Bang Phueng Temple in Ban Mi district, Lopburi, where the temple had hired the Sornram Nampech likay troupe to perform. Sornram, also known as Nong Bank, told reporters he had been contacted by the mother of Private Wayu, the brave soldier, about organizing a performance for her late son. Even though her son has passed, before he sacrificed his life for the country, he had told his mother how much he loved Sornram’s likay and wished to hire them if he had money. His mother wanted to fulfill this wish, and Sornram expressed his willingness and honor to do so. However, due to a busy schedule extending beyond the New Year, the performance is expected to be scheduled around June 2026.
Nong Bank Sornram also said that to honor Private Wayu and all brave soldiers, he will perform the likay story "The Misfit Battalion," which tells of soldiers who gave their lives for the nation. He will use the name "Wayu" in the performance as a tribute to Private Wayu.
He expressed his love and respect for all Thai soldiers who sacrifice for the country, calling them all great. He offered encouragement to all frontline troops and asked fellow Thais to support these brave soldiers who are performing their important duties. Furthermore, he and his troupe plan not only to offer moral support but also to collect and deliver supplies, equipment, and food to the frontline troops soon.
