Prime Minister Anutin Invites Thais to Share Happiness with Grand Year-End OTOP Gifts

A grand spectacle befitting its prestige! Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul presided over the opening of OTOP CITY 2025, accompanied by a magnificent opening ceremony performance.

Today (22 December 2025) at 5:00 p.m., the Ministry of Interior, through the Community Development Department, held a grand opening ceremony for OTOP CITY 2025. The event was honored by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul presiding over the opening, with Deputy Minister of Interior Sasithorn Kittitharakul delivering the welcome remarks and event report.

Also present were Atthit Sampanrat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior; Siam Sirimongkol, Director-General of the Community Development Department; and Best Kamsing, OTOP CITY 2025 presenter, who joined in welcoming guests. The event was attended by diplomats, cabinet members, senior Ministry of Interior officials, senior government agency executives, partner agency leaders, provincial governors, and numerous distinguished guests at Challenger Halls 1–3, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani.

The opening ceremony began impressively with a special performance titled “OTOP….Happiness Festival,” portraying the spirit of giving and sharing during the New Year through vibrant colors, music, and contemporary performances, combined with a marching band from Triam Udom Suksa Nomklao Kundee School. This created an impressive atmosphere and inspired happiness among attendees before the official opening.

Prime Minister Anutin said OTOP CITY 2025 is the country's largest exhibition and sale of OTOP products, organized by the Ministry of Interior through the Community Development Department. Each year, three major events are held: 1) OTOP Midyear in June, 2) OTOP Silpa Chok Prateep Thai OTOP Lom Duang Jai in August, and 3) OTOP City at the end of the year in December—a time of happiness, hope, and sharing good things. OTOP CITY is not just a product showcase but a platform reflecting the strength of Thai communities nationwide. It gathers dedication, patience, and wisdom accumulated over time from people across all regions, presenting the true potential of Thai products to both Thai and international visitors.

Deputy Minister Sasithorn said that the One Tambon One Product (OTOP) project has proven that when communities receive opportunities and proper support, they can stand firm, develop, and grow independently. OTOP is a vital mechanism for creating jobs, generating income, and strengthening the country’s grassroots economy. This year’s event is under the concept “Heaven’s Gift – A Gift from the Sky, Weaving Value to the People,” honoring the royal benevolence of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, in promoting Thai handicrafts. It also provides an important platform for community entrepreneurs from all 77 provinces to directly sell more than 2,500 quality OTOP products, creating opportunities, income, and tangible grassroots economic development.

After the opening ceremony, the Prime Minister, diplomats, and executives toured exhibition booths of partner agencies, engaging in conversations with producers and entrepreneurs showcasing and selling their products. The Prime Minister praised the event for beautifully and contemporarily conveying the values, identity, and pride of Thai communities.

The event featured key highlight zones that comprehensively express the values and identities of Thai communities, including: a Royal Tribute Exhibition Zone honoring the royal benevolence in promoting handicrafts; OTOP Gift and Souvenir Zone gathering quality products nationwide as representatives of New Year happiness; Thai Fabric Fun Zone presenting Thai textiles in contemporary styles suitable for daily wear; OTOP Artist Zone exhibiting exquisite handicrafts by community artisans nationwide; OTOP Tourism Community Zone showcasing the charm, culture, and identity of villages; OTOP Tasting Zone and Tasting Tunnel featuring over 160 delicious and spicy dishes from all regions; and Health & Spa and Traditional Thai Massage Zone offering relaxation through Thai wisdom.
Additionally, there was an OTOP Solidarity Zone to assist communities affected by floods and border areas.

OTOP CITY 2025 is scheduled from 20 to 28 December 2025, daily from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Challenger Halls 1–3, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani.
