
The First Army Operations Center summarized the Thailand-Cambodia border situation in Sakaeo province. The Burapha Task Force clashed at three points, attacking two Poipet military targets, resulting in one soldier killed, seven civilians injured, and over 17,000 displaced.
On 23 December 2025 at 18:00 GMT+7, the First Army Operations Center reported that the Burapha Task Force continued its mission to protect sovereignty amid the Thailand-Cambodia conflict in Sakaeo province for the 16th day, engaging in combat to control three areas.
1. Ban Khlong Phaeng area, Ta Phraya district: Cambodian forces reinforced their stronghold and supported their positions with artillery, direct-fire weapons, small arms, and BM-21 rocket fire. Our forces responded with supporting fire to control the area.
2. Ban Nong Ya Kaeo area, Khok Sung district: Cambodian forces strengthened their stronghold, while our forces used supporting fire to control the area and prepared defensive positions to respond as needed.
3. Ban Nong Jan area, Khok Sung district: Cambodian forces reinforced their stronghold, and our forces used supporting fire to maintain control of the area.
Today, the Burapha Task Force launched attacks on two Cambodian military targets in the Poipet area, destroying buildings used as operation bases and ammunition storage, which were unoccupied by civilians.
1. The former International Center (call center) building, previously a gathering point for cross-border personnel before they dispersed to work as scammers, was converted by Cambodia into a military operations base.
It is located about 2 km from the permanent border crossing at Ban Nong Ian, Tha Kham subdistrict, Aranyaprathet district.
2. The building opposite Wat Wang Mon, Tha Kham subdistrict, Aranyaprathet district, formerly used for managing scammer accounts, was converted into a storage site for Cambodian weapons and ammunition, where Cambodian snipers were also detected.
Reports confirm the death of Private Thanaphat Nantawong of the 3rd Infantry Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment, King's Guard, while performing his duty to protect national sovereignty at the Ban Nong Jan border area, Khok Sung district. Additionally, damage occurred from Cambodian use of BM-21 multi-barrel rockets and grenade launchers targeting civilian areas in Sakaeo province. From 8 to 23 December 2025, seven civilians were injured, 14 houses damaged, and 5,893 rai of agricultural land affected. Public infrastructure damage includes seven road points, three high-voltage power poles, one livestock fence, and one school wall.
In the border areas of four districts in Sakaeo province, local authorities and relevant agencies have advised residents to evacuate to temporary shelters and follow safety instructions. Currently, 40 temporary shelters have been opened, accommodating a total of 17,441 people.
