"First Army Region" Updates on three border fronts in Sa Kaeo Province "Cambodian forces" continue firing BM-21 rocket launchers
On 24 Dec 2025, FacebookFirst Army Regionposted a statement saying, "Entering the 17th day of counter-operations to defend sovereignty, operations are ongoing across three frontline areas along the Sa Kaeo border. These areas are open terrain without strongholds or sturdy cover, making them vulnerable to attacks. Moreover, Cambodian forces have been using civilian areas as military bases to launch attacks against us.
1. In Ban Khlong Phaeng, Ta Phraya District, our forces have secured control, established strongholds, and used supporting firepower to maintain area control. Cambodian forces continue resistance, notably with ongoing BM-21 rocket launcher attacks.
2. In Ban Nong Ya Kaeo, Khok Sung District, our forces have similarly secured control, established strongholds, and employed supporting fire to maintain control. Cambodian forces persist with resistance, especially continuous BM-21 rocket launcher fire.
3. In Ban Nong Chan, Khok Sung District, Cambodian forces have reinforced their strongholds and continue attacking us with artillery, mortars, and BM-21 rocket launchers. Our forces are conducting careful operations, responding with firepower to decisively regain and control the area.
Counter-operations against Cambodian military targets in the Poipet area continue steadily, focusing on attacking military strongholds, ammunition depots, sniper positions, curved trajectory weapons, and communication systems aimed at us to neutralize threats. Our responses are proportional to prevent impacts on unrelated civilians, in accordance with international law."
