Cambodia arrived as scheduled, leading a delegation to join the GBC meeting in Chanthaburi Province to discuss Thailand-Cambodia border issues.
On 24 December 2025, it was reported that the General Border Committee (GBC) meeting between Thailand and Cambodia took place in Chanthaburi Province.
At 16:25, Thai officials escorted the Cambodian delegation across the bridge directly to the meeting room of the 4th Marine Ranger Control Unit, then allowed the media to take photographs before asking them to leave.
Initially, the Cambodian side was led by Major General Yam Boraden, Deputy Head of the Office of the Minister of Defense of Cambodia, accompanied by both military and civilian members.
Today's meeting agenda and framework were set by the secretariat, following established procedures and steps. The meeting is scheduled to last four days from 24 to 26 December. If proceedings go smoothly and both sides reach clear agreements, a meeting between the defense ministers of both countries is planned for the morning of 27 December.
The initial discussion points are expected to align with topics previously discussed by both parties, including past agreements and Thailand's three clear positions emphasizing that Cambodia must cease fire first, as well as the restoration of cooperation on humanitarian landmine clearance—an issue Thailand has continuously advocated.
