Most recently, on 22 Dec 2025, the Cambodian Ministry of Defense sent an official letter to the Thai Minister of Defense expressing the desire to negotiate a ceasefire, marking a significant step within the framework of conditions set by Thailand.
Furthermore, following the special ASEAN ministers’ meeting on 22 Dec, arrangements were made for the General Border Committee (GBC) meeting, proposed by Cambodia, to be held from 24-27 Dec 2025 in Chanthaburi Province. The Thai delegation is led by Lieutenant General Natthapong Praokaew, Deputy Chief of Staff, while Cambodia’s delegation is led by Major General Nhem Boraden.
