
The First Army Region summarized the border situation on the Sa Kaeo side, observing Cambodia's reinforcement of their stronghold. Thailand used supporting fire to control the Ban Nong Jan area and deployed F-16s to strike deep targets, including an arms and ammunition depot in Banon District, Battambang Province.
On 24 December 2025, the First Army Region Operations Center summarized the Thai-Cambodian border situation in Sa Kaeo Province at 18:00 GMT+7.
The Burapha Task Force has been defending sovereignty amid the Thai-Cambodian conflict for 17 days, engaging in clashes to seize control of three areas.
1. Ban Khlong Phang area, Ta Phraya District: Cambodian forces continue strengthening their stronghold and resist with artillery, grenade launchers, and BM-21 rockets. Thai forces have established defensive positions with obstacles and used supporting fire to respond as needed to control the area and maintain their stronghold.
2. Ban Nong Ya Kaew area, Khok Sung District: Cambodian forces persist in reinforcing their stronghold and resist with artillery, grenade launchers, and BM-21 rockets. Thai forces have established defensive positions with barriers and used supporting fire to respond as the situation demands, controlling the area and maintaining their stronghold.
3. Ban Nong Jan area, Khok Sung District: Cambodian forces have reinforced and fortified their stronghold, continuously providing supporting fire with artillery, grenade launchers, and BM-21 rockets against Thai forces. Thai forces have used supporting fire to control the area.
Additionally, the Air Force conducted air operations, with F-16s striking deep targets of Cambodian forces, specifically an arms and ammunition depot in Banon District, Battambang Province.
Regarding residents in four border districts of Sa Kaeo Province, the provincial authorities, together with relevant agencies, have advised evacuation to temporary shelters and recommended following safety instructions. Currently, 40 temporary shelters are open, serving a total of 18,096 people.
