Immigration Police Division 3 Launches Proactive Crime Suppression Operation for Christmas and New Year 2026 Festival

Immigration Police Division 3 has launched a proactive operation deploying forces to suppress crime during the Christmas and New Year 2026 festival, ensuring criminals do not use Thailand as a transit route for any illegal activities, thereby building confidence among tourists and visitors.

On 24 Dec 2025 at 14:00, at Wat Yai Chaimongkol in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, Pol. Lt. Gen. Phanumas Bunlaksam, Commander of the Immigration Bureau, instructed Pol. Maj. Gen. Piti Nithinontset, Deputy Commander of the Immigration Bureau, to preside over the deployment ceremony to facilitate public convenience and deter crime during the Christmas and New Year 2026 festival. Local units including the highway police, tourist police, and Ayutthaya provincial police participated in the ceremony.

The Immigration Bureau has scheduled this deployment to facilitate public convenience and suppress crime during the Christmas and New Year 2026 period from 24 Dec 2025 to 4 Jan 2026 (the 12 dangerous days). This period features numerous celebrations, year-end events, and countdown activities, attracting large numbers of Thai and foreign tourists traveling and vacationing across various areas. This situation may provide opportunities for individuals or criminals to commit offenses, potentially impacting public safety, property security, and social order.

Immigration Police Division 3 has set guidelines for proactive crime prevention and suppression by integrating security personnel in the area. The focus is on inspecting and monitoring suspicious persons, illegal border crossing, offenses by foreigners, and emphasizing checks on illegal entry and overstaying (Overstay), as well as all forms of transnational crime. This includes increasing patrol frequency in high-risk areas, tourist spots, event venues, and gathering points of locals and foreign tourists.

The operation also provides full support, advice, and assistance to citizens and tourists under strict law enforcement principles to ensure safety and confidence that Thailand remains a secure and suitable destination for tourism and residence. This supports national security policies and promotes a positive national image during significant festivals.

Furthermore, Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanphet, Royal Thai Police Commissioner, has emphasized implementing the government's urgent policy to crack down on transnational criminals. This effort aims to prevent and suppress foreigners who infiltrate and commit offenses threatening public peace and national security. Serious enforcement helps preserve the country's image and builds confidence in law enforcement. Any detected offenses will be dealt with decisively. The public is encouraged to report any observed or suspected criminal activities to the Immigration Bureau headquarters at 904 Moo 6, Ban Mai Subdistrict, Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province, to provincial immigration offices, or via the website.www.immigration.go.th
