
The Second Army Region expressed condolences after two personnel were injured by stepping on a landmine near "Prasat Ta Khwai" following clearance operations around the temple area.
On 25 December 2025, the Facebook pageof the Second Army Regionposted a statement saying the Second Army Operations Center regrets the incident where personnel stepped on a landmine near Prasat Ta Khwai, a location our forces have controlled since 16 December 2025.
Currently, efforts are underway to strengthen security at the site, conducting clearance and searching for the many landmines present.
At 14:25, the engineering unit under Battalion 5.22 was clearing landmines around the temple when the operational team encountered a PMN-2 anti-personnel mine, resulting in two personnel being injured as follows.
1. Sergeant Nititham Srikamsaeng Sustained serious injuries to his left leg.
2. Staff Sergeant Amnat Thatsombat Experienced chest tightness and ear ringing from the blast impact.
The medical team provided first aid to both injured soldiers, who were then transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment.
