Second Round of GBC Meeting Begins in Chanthaburi After Multiple Postponements by Cambodian Side

The second round of the GBC meeting began in Chanthaburi province after the Cambodian side requested several postponements. At 19:20, the Cambodian delegation arrived and was met halfway on the bridge by the Thai delegation acting as hosts.

On 25 December 2025 GMT+7, reports stated that during the second-level secretaries' meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC) earlier that morning, Major General Nyam Boraden, Deputy Head of the Cambodian Ministry of Defense Office, arrived with his team. Colonel Krawaranon Klanpromsuwan, Assistant Army Attaché at the Royal Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh, along with Thai GBC representatives, met them at the Cambodian border checkpoint.

They exchanged handshakes in a friendly atmosphere before escorting the Cambodian delegation into Thailand and to the meeting room on the third floor of the Immigration Office building. Inside, General Natthapong Paokaew, Deputy Military Secretary of the Thai Armed Forces Headquarters and Secretary of the Thai-Cambodian General Border Committee, warmly welcomed them.

According to the schedule, the second round of the GBC meeting was set to begin at 14:00. However, the Cambodian side informed they would attend at 15:00. As time passed, they requested to postpone further to 18:00, and ultimately arrived at 19:20, when the Thai delegation met them halfway on the bridge as hosts.

All participants entered the meeting room at the permanent Pak Kad Immigration Checkpoint. The media, who had been waiting since the afternoon, were allowed about two minutes to take photos. Afterwards, the media were asked to leave, and the second round of the meeting proceeded.
