On the auspicious occasion of the New Year 2569 BE, His Holiness Somdet Phra Ariyawongsakhatayan, the Supreme Patriarch, graciously bestowed a portrait displayed in the ordination hall of Wat Ratchabophit Sathitmahasimaram in front of the Buddha statue Angkiras. The portrait is decorated with a golden enamel halo and ancient auspicious royal decorations, including the Nine Gems insignia with the Nine Gems necklace. These royal decorations were offered by His Majesty the King as a Buddhist tribute. The Supreme Patriarch’s own handwriting presents the Buddhist proverb, “Nimitta sathurupanam katanyukataveta: Gratitude and respect are marks of a good person,” as a guiding principle for happiness in the New Year 2569 BE, along with a blessing: “On the auspicious occasion of the New Year 2569 BE, may you be grateful and respectful, reaching the status of a good person who is always happy and prosperous.”
