The First Army Region has aggressively reclaimed three border villages in Sa Kaeo province, accelerating efforts to clear the area and establish security, though occasional return gunfire is still heard.
At 09:30 on 26 Dec 2025, the First Army Region reported that this morning Thai military forces launched an operation in Ban Nong Chan, Khok Sung district, Sa Kaeo province, successfully retaking the area.
Thai forces now fully control Ban Khlong Phaeng, Ban Nong Chan, and Ban Nong Ya Kaeo, and are in the process of clearing the area and establishing security, carrying out operations with caution.
Later, at 14:30, the First Army Region Operations Center received reports from the Burapha Task Force that military operations secured and controlled the frontline in Ban Nong Chan. Preparations are underway to establish strongholds along the line and conduct supportive return fire to maintain control and security.
The First Army Region Operations Center, through the Burapha Task Force, has secured and controlled all three frontlines: Ban Khlong Phaeng in Ta Phraya district, Ban Nong Ya Kaeo in Khok Sung district, and Ban Nong Chan in Khok Sung district.
The First Army Region Operations Center thanks the dedicated soldiers who steadfastly fought against threats, as well as all involved parties including rangers, border patrol police, local police, administrative officials, provincial departments, local agencies, volunteer citizens, and the Thai people who continuously supported this mission.
Importantly, gratitude is extended to the residents of the four border districts for understanding the situation, enduring sacrifices, and evacuating their homes to ensure their safety.
