
Officials recovered the body of a "female tourist" who fell from a high mountain in Tak Province. After more than four hours, the body was successfully retrieved and sent for a detailed autopsy.
At 16:00 on 26 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reporters from Tha Song Yang District, Tak Province, reported that police from Tha Song Yang Police Station, rangers, disaster prevention officials, local administration, and rescue teams succeeded in jointly recovering the body of a female tourist identified as Ms. Sarocha Wijitpanya, 22 years old. She had traveled to visit Doi Jo Wale in Tha Song Yang subdistrict, Tak Province, a well-known natural adventure tourist destination in the province.
Rope was used to rappel down to the deep ravine bottom to haul up the body with a stretcher, a difficult operation involving more than 10 officials pulling the stretcher. The recovery began at 08:00 and ended by 11:30, taking over four hours. After recovery, Tha Song Yang police conducted a detailed examination, finding numerous wounds on the face and body caused by impacts with mountain rocks. The body was sent for a more thorough autopsy. At 12:00, officials began carrying the body by foot to a waiting ambulance from Tha Song Yang Hospital to transport it to the hospital for doctors to confirm the cause of death.
