Clashes Escalate at Thailand-Cambodia Border Thailand Strikes Back, Cuts Off Arms Supply Routes

The 2nd Army Region summarizes the situation along the Thailand-Cambodia border, noting ongoing tension in many areas. In Sisaket, heavy clashes occurred, but Thailand retains control of all main zones. At Ta Muen Thom, Cambodia used tanks and fired BM-21 rockets at Thai forces.

At 08:00 on 27 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the 2nd Army Region reported that the situation along the Thailand-Cambodia border remained tense at multiple points yesterday (26 Dec 2025). Particularly in Sisaket Province, there were continuous clashes supported by gunfire, while Thai forces maintained control of key strategic areas.

Thailand-Cambodia border in Ubon Ratchathani Province At Chong Bok and Chong An Ma, Thai forces have been deployed firmly along the line. They are rapidly constructing strong defensive positions at key strategic points and clearing and destroying Cambodian bunkers to restore security in the area.

Thailand-Cambodia border in Sisaket Province Heavy clashes occurred across several areas, especially along the Sam Tae–Don Tual–Phu Phee–Satta Som–Phanom Phra Sitthi So–Chong Ta Thao line. Cambodian forces used various types of supporting fire intermittently, while Thai forces responded immediately with supporting fire and drones. No large-scale ground incursions were observed. In the evening, a convoy of five Cambodian vehicles was spotted and destroyed by Thai supporting fire.

Area of Pham Oi Daeng–Huai Tamaria This was a main clash point of the day, with artillery fire from early dawn continuing throughout. Cambodian forces fired BM-21 rockets, while Thai forces responded with counter-fire, destroying opposing weapon positions. Some Thai personnel were injured by shrapnel but still maintained control of the area.

Additionally, in the area of Phu Ma Kuea–Chong Don Ao–Phlan Yao–Phlan Hin Paed Kon Cambodian forces fired BM-21 rockets, but Thai forces effectively targeted them with drone strikes. Meanwhile, in the Chong Sangam area, no significant movements were detected.

Thailand-Cambodia border in Surin Province Several areas remained under force deployment and security reinforcement. Thai forces periodically fired artillery to suppress military targets. Although BM-21 rockets were detected at some points, no close assaults were observed.

Ta Muen Thom area Dense gunfire clashes occurred. Cambodian forces used tanks and BM-21 rockets, with numerous drones observed flying overhead. Nonetheless, the area remains under Thai control.

Thailand-Cambodia border in Buriram Province, Chong Sai Taku area Clashes took place in the morning. Thai forces used supporting fire to suppress Cambodian positions, which returned fire in the area.

Meanwhile, in rear areas, shells and rockets fired by Cambodian forces fell in several communities in Sisaket and Surin provinces. Authorities are inspecting damage and closely ensuring public safety.

The 2nd Army Region also reported that overnight clashes continued, with Cambodian forces repeatedly firing multiple BM-21 rocket salvos into Thailand until morning. Thai forces responded with artillery to destroy Cambodian military targets and used aircraft to strike areas disrupting Cambodian supply routes for personnel and weapons.
