"Thailand-Cambodia" Reached the 12:00 PM ceasefire deadline, with many border areas beginning to quiet down while "Kantharalak" Still experiencing clashes
On 27 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the Joint General Border Committee (GBC) of Thailand and Cambodia held their 3rd special session at the permanent border crossing at Ban Phak Kad, Pong Nam Ron District, Chanthaburi Province, opposite Ban Okhom, Slak Khao District, Pailin Province, Cambodia. They met to discuss ending the conflict and signed a conditional ceasefire agreement.
A key condition was that both sides agreed to an immediate ceasefire after signing the joint statement, effective from 12:00 PM local time on 27 Dec 2025 GMT+7. This covered all types of weapons and prohibited attacks on civilians, civilian infrastructure, and military targets on both sides. Both parties were to avoid unprovoked attacks, keep troops in their current positions, forbid movements or patrols into opposing territory, and refrain from increasing military forces along the border to prevent escalating tensions.
Most recently, at 12:05 PM, reporters noted that gunfire had ceased in the Surin border area. Prior to that, at 11:55 AM, heavy artillery exchanges were still audible near the Ta Kwai temple and Hill 350, but afterward, no further artillery fire was heard. However, clashes continued in the Kantharalak border area.
Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
