Samut Prakan opened MP candidate registration on the first day, 27 Dec 2025, with Pheu Thai partnering “Ban Yai Asawame” to challenge parliamentary seats held by the Pochan Party.
At 8:00 a.m. on 27 December 2025, the atmosphere at the Samut Prakan MP candidate registration was lively as the Election Commission (EC) officially opened constituency-based candidate registration for the first day, running from 27 to 31 December 2025 at the Seacom Complex Bang Pu Conference Center, covering all 8 constituencies in the province.
This registration saw several major political parties field candidates in all constituencies amid strict security measures. Campaign teams and party supporters continuously arrived to encourage their candidates. Notable parties include the Pochan Party, Bhumjaithai Party, and Palang Pracharath Party.
Meanwhile, Pheu Thai attracted special attention after aligning with a local political group, “Ban Yai Asawame.” Most members of this group previously ran under the Palang Pracharath Party banner. They have now joined Pheu Thai and fielded candidates in all 8 constituencies.
This move is seen as Pheu Thai's declaration of readiness to reclaim parliamentary seats from the Pochan Party, which previously held all constituencies in Samut Prakan. The Pochan Party nominated almost all former MPs again, changing candidates in only two constituencies: the 4th and 8th. Throughout the registration process, EC officials maintained close supervision and provided support, with no disturbances or violations reported.
