Continuous Traffic on Asian Highway as People Head North During 2026 New Year Holiday

Traffic on the Asian Highway continues steadily, filling all lanes as people flock to return to their hometowns and travel to northern regions during the extended New Year holiday.

At 13:30 on 27 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reports indicated that traffic on the northbound Asian Highway in Nakhon Sawan province, passing through Ang Thong province from the border of Maha Rat district in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, through Mueang and Chaiyo districts, heading towards Phrom Buri district in Sing Buri province, remained heavy with vehicles occupying every lane. Travelers were returning home and visiting northern areas during the long New Year holiday, with average speeds around 70-90 kilometers per hour. Some slowdowns occurred in certain spots, especially near the PTT gas station in Chaiyo, around kilometers 59-60 in Chorakhe Rong subdistrict, Chaiyo district.

Meanwhile, police from Chaiyo Station deployed officers to assist travelers exiting the PTT gas station on the Asian Highway to prevent accidents.

At the same time, traffic heading towards Phrom Buri district, Sing Buri province, remained heavy. It is expected that from the evening until night on 27 Dec 2025 GMT+7, vehicle volume passing through Ang Thong province via the Asian Highway will continue to be high, as it has been throughout the day.
