Post-Ceasefire Situation: No Cambodian Response in 3 Frontline Areas, Thailand Maintains Strongholds

The 1st Army Region summarized the border situation on the Sa Kaeo side. The Eastern Forces have carried out their mission to protect sovereignty. After signing the ceasefire, military operations ceased immediately, and they continue to maintain their objectives of holding strongholds in all three frontline areas. There has been no Cambodian retaliatory fire reported.

On 27 December 2025, the 1st Army Region Operations Center summarized the Thailand-Cambodia border situation in Sa Kaeo province for the day at 6:00 PM GMT+7.

The Eastern Forces have been conducting their mission to protect sovereignty amid the Thailand-Cambodia conflict for 20 days, operating in three areas: Ban Khlong Paeng in Taphraya District, Ban Nong Ya Kaeo in Khok Sung District, and Ban Nong Chan in Khok Sung District.

In the morning, the Cambodian side used weapons including artillery and mortars to support fire against our forces. Our forces responded with supporting fire to control the area, were modifying defensive strongholds, responded according to the situation, and maintained the objective of holding strongholds.

Following the signing of the Joint Statement by the Thai-Cambodian General Border Committee (GBC) at the special 3rd meeting in Chanthaburi province, both sides agreed to a ceasefire starting at 12:00 PM. The 1st Army Region Operations Center received reports from the Eastern Forces that all three frontline areas ceased military operations against the opposing side in strict accordance with the Joint Statement, while still maintaining their objectives to hold strongholds. There have been no reports of firing or retaliation from the Cambodian side either.

For residents in the border areas of four districts in Sa Kaeo province, please continue to monitor the situation and announcements from relevant government agencies before considering returning to your homes, and please follow safety recommendations as a priority.
