A huge crowd gathered to honorably welcome back "Phra Chao Tong Song Thong" to Phayao City after it had been lost for more than 65 years.
On 27 December 2025 at 15:30, at the main viharn of Wat Sri Khom Kham in Phayao Province, a ceremony was held to honorably return "Phra Chao Tong Song Thong" to Phayao City after being missing for over 65 years. It was enshrined at Wat Sri Khom Kham, a royal temple, for seven days before being moved to Wat Khun Tam.
Ms. Ora-apa Lohveera, Governor of Phayao Province, presided over the ceremony, attended by department heads, government officials, relevant agencies, and a large number of citizens.
This ceremony was held to honorably return Phra Chao Tong Song Thong to its original home. It represents cooperation from all sectors to bring the statue back, bringing great joy to Buddhists throughout Phayao Province.
