After Ceasefire Signing, Officials Survey Damage and Find BM-21 Rockets Scattered Across Village

Half a day after the ceasefire signing, officials entered Buriram Province to survey the area and found traces of BM-21 rockets scattered everywhere. On a single plot of land, 14 rockets had fallen. It is estimated that hundreds more are scattered across the area.

On 27 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reports from Buriram Province stated that after the ceasefire agreement was signed between representatives of Thailand and Cambodia at 12:00 today, the situation will be monitored for 72 hours. Some villagers who had been away for more than 20 days have begun returning to their homes.

Meanwhile, administrative officials, village leaders, and local defense volunteers jointly surveyed villages and farmers' fields to assess damage and determine if any property was harmed. During intense clashes, no one dared to stay in the area for fear of danger, following government orders.

Mr. Wutthikrai Chim-ngam, a village head in Buriram, said that after the gunfire ceased, he and officials inspected local farms and found extensive agricultural damage.

On a single rubber plantation owned by one villager, 14 rockets, believed to be BM-21 rockets, had landed across about 20 rai (approximately 7.9 acres). It is still unclear where else rockets may have fallen in the village. Further surveys are planned for the next day, with estimates of over 100 rockets scattered, excluding other villages. Before the ceasefire, Cambodian forces reportedly targeted civilians.
