
The Social Security Office continues to assist insured workers affected by ongoing flooding across nine southern provinces, expediting comprehensive relief for those impacted.
On 28 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Ms. Kanchana Phoolkaew, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, stated that under the urgent policy of Minister of Labour Ms. Treenuch Thienthong, who is concerned for workers and insured persons in the affected areas, the Social Security Office has been instructed to promptly provide aid to insured workers impacted by floods in nine southern provinces: Trang, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Narathiwat, Pattani, Phatthalung, Yala, Songkhla, Satun, and Surat Thani. Benefits include funeral expenses, death grants, old-age pensions, and unemployment benefits due to the disaster (flooding). As of 7 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reports show 34,052 establishments were affected, impacting 2,236,015 insured workers. Benefits have been granted to 5,480 insured persons, with Songkhla having the highest number of applicants at 4,893. Overall, among beneficiaries in the nine provinces, there were 5,478 insured under Section 33, 1 under Section 39, 1 under Section 40, and 9 previously registered insured persons also affected.
The Social Security Office has disbursed benefits as entitled: funeral expenses totaling 175,000 baht; death grants amounting to 135,599.40 baht; old-age pensions totaling 562,629.40 baht; and unemployment benefits due to the disaster (flooding) amounting to 5,759,774.60 baht for 5,476 insured persons. In total, 6,633,003.40 baht has been paid to 5,489 beneficiaries. The Social Security Office affirms its commitment to continue providing urgent assistance while closely monitoring the flood situation to ensure all affected insured individuals receive full and comprehensive benefits.
