M6 and Mittraphap Road Crowded with Vehicles as People Head to Northeastern Region During New Year Holiday

The atmosphere on Motorway M6 and Mittraphap Road has been congested with heavy traffic since early morning, following a surge of travelers during the New Year festival.

On 28 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reporters covered the travel conditions during the New Year festival. Earlier this morning, traffic on Motorway M6 heading into Nakhon Ratchasima province near kilometer 113, Ban Pin Thong, Khonong Phra Subdistrict, Pak Chong District, was heavily congested. The overall traffic was dense, with vehicles slowing intermittently. This traffic volume consists mainly of people returning to their northeastern hometowns ahead of the New Year to avoid traffic jams.

Meanwhile, traffic on Mittraphap Road between Pak Chong and Sikhio districts also showed many travelers choosing this route. Especially near the front of Klong Phai Prison in Nakhon Ratchasima, heavy traffic was observed on the side heading into Nakhon Ratchasima. Many people began traveling from early dawn to reach the province by morning. It is expected that travel back to hometowns will continue steadily throughout the day.
