Navy Reports Easing of Chanthaburi-Trat Border Situation, Advises Residents to Return Home

The Chanthaburi-Trat border situation has eased. The Navy, in coordination with provincial authorities, has allowed residents to gradually return to their hometowns.

On 28 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Rear Admiral Parat Rattanachaiyaphan, Navy spokesperson, stated that following the ceasefire agreement jointly signed by Thai and Cambodian sides on 27 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the situation in Chanthaburi and Trat provinces has steadily improved.

The Chanthaburi and Trat Border Defense Command (C-T BDC), together with local authorities, has thoroughly assessed security and safety conditions in the area and has decided to permit residents to return to their homes to alleviate their difficulties. The C-T BDC continues to closely monitor and watch over the situation to ensure maximum safety for the local population.

The Navy will continue to fully perform its duties to maintain order and stability along the border, especially during the 72-hour monitoring period following the ceasefire.
