On 29 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reporters observed traffic conditions on National Highway 2 (Mittraphap Road) passing through Sikhiu District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Citizens are steadily traveling back to their hometowns ahead of the 2026 New Year. Near the Institute of Skill Development 5 Nakhon Ratchasima, Mittraphap Subdistrict, Sikhiu District, inbound traffic to Nakhon Ratchasima is flowing smoothly with no congestion, allowing drivers to maintain legal speeds. There is slight slow-down when ascending or descending near the Provincial Waterworks Authority of Sikhiu.
Additionally, some vehicles are entering Motorway M6 to bypass downtown Nakhon Ratchasima. Traffic volume on Motorway M6 is light this morning. Meanwhile, some vehicles are diverting from Mittraphap Road at the left junction in Sikhiu District to use Route 24 heading to Buriram Province and Route 201 toward Chaiyaphum Province, where traffic remains smooth.
Mr. Pipe, 35, from Chaiyaphum Province, said he works in Bang Pakong District, Chachoengsao Province, and had about 10 days off work. He chose to travel home to Chaiyaphum early to avoid traffic congestion during the year-end and New Year period. He departed around 04:00 a.m. and arrived at a gas station near kilometer 9 on the Chaiyaphum-Sikhiu Road, Kud Noi Subdistrict, Sikhiu District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, at almost 08:30 a.m. He traveled steadily, using Motorway M6, where traffic was not heavy.
