
The Royal Thai Army disclosed that a Thai soldier stepped on a landmine in the Sattahom area. The soldier was identified as Sergeant Major Sujin Jitkriyan, who lost his left leg and suffered a severe wound to his left eye. He was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.
On 29 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the Facebook page “Military News” posted that the Royal Thai Army revealed an incident involving a Thai soldier stepping on a landmine in the Sattahom area.
According to the Royal Thai Army report, the soldier who stepped on the landmine was Sergeant Major Sujin Jitkriyan from the 8th Engineer Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division. He was part of the bomb disposal unit and stepped on a personnel landmine while conducting clearance operations in the recaptured Sattahom area. The explosion resulted in the loss of his left leg and severe injury to his left eye. He was immediately taken to Bueng Malu Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital, then transferred to Kantharalak Hospital. A helicopter was coordinated to urgently transfer him to Surin Hospital.
