Pickup Trucks Collide Loudly on Nan-Vieng Sa Road, 10 Injured, Nearly Fatal

A loud collision between pickup trucks on Nan-Vieng Sa Road resulted in 10 injuries. Officials transported the injured to Nan Hospital for treatment, narrowly avoiding a mass casualty.


On 2 Jan 2026, it was reported that at 17:45 on 1 Jan, Police Lieutenant Kittipong Panyamoon, an investigator at Mueang Nan Police Station, received notification from Nan City Radio Center 191 about a pickup truck collision in front of Sup Saeng Dao Company, Ban Thong Mai Phatthana, Nan–Vieng Sa Road, Du Tai Subdistrict, Mueang Nan District, Nan Province.

At the scene, an Isuzu pickup truck with a roll bar all around, registered in Phrae, was found overturned on its side blocking the lane entering Nan city. The vehicle was completely damaged. The other vehicle involved was a Toyota Revo 4-door pickup, registered in Bangkok, also overturned in the inbound lane to Nan city and similarly heavily damaged.

Investigation revealed a total of 14 passengers in both vehicles. Ten were injured, while four sustained minor injuries but declined medical treatment. Several emergency medical and rescue units responded promptly, including Sawang Nakhon Nan Ruam Jai Rescue, Kong Khwai Subdistrict Municipality Rescue, Nan Rescue, Nan Provincial Administrative Organization Rescue, and Du Tai Subdistrict Municipality Rescue. The 10 injured were taken to Nan Hospital for further care.

Police documented the scene with photographs and maps as evidence and are preparing to thoroughly question the drivers of both vehicles to determine the cause of the accident, as multiple people were injured. Legal proceedings will follow accordingly.
