The atmosphere is filled with people traveling back to Bangkok after celebrating the New Year festival, causing traffic congestion on Mittraphap Road. It is expected that vehicle volume will increase further this afternoon and throughout the night.
On 2 January 2026, reporters reported that around noon, most people began traveling back to Bangkok after the New Year festival ended, resulting in heavy traffic on the inbound side of Mittraphap Road at Ban Wat intersection, Thephalai subdistrict, Khong district, and Talat Khae intersection, Than Prasat subdistrict, Non Sung district, Nakhon Ratchasima province, with many vehicles accumulating.
Especially at roadside petrol station rest stops, highway police officers advised using the detour route through Buayai - Khong district - Kham Sakaesaeng - Non Thai - then joining the ring road bypass at Khok Sung (Chor Hor) to access Motorway M6 to avoid traffic jams. It is anticipated that this afternoon and throughout the night, vehicle numbers will increase further as many people return to Bangkok.
