Navy Facilitates Return of 162 Thai Nationals Through Ban Laem Checkpoint

The Navy facilitated the return of 162 Thai nationals through the Ban Laem checkpoint before they entered the processes of screening, inspection, and subsequent procedures.

On 3 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Rear Admiral Parach Rattanachaiphan, Navy spokesperson, revealed that at 10:30 a.m., the Chanthaburi-Trat Border Defense Command (CPDCT), led by Commander Pratchaya Hantiaem of the Chanthaburi Marine Task Force, coordinated with the Royal Thai Police and Immigration Office to manage border crossing for 162 Thai nationals returning to Thailand at the Ban Laem permanent border checkpoint, Pong Nam Ron District, Chanthaburi. This was carried out smoothly, systematically, and safely within legal frameworks and set measures, emphasizing humanitarian principles alongside national security.

Among the returning Thai nationals, some had been deported by foreign authorities. Thai officials conducted thorough and careful investigations considering the reasons and origins of the deportations, checking for any legal offenses or involvement with transnational criminal organizations in various forms.

All actions strictly and fairly followed evidence and judicial processes. The individuals underwent screening, inspection, and procedures by public health agencies, the Immigration Office, and police officers to fully comply with relevant laws, regulations, and measures.
