Suspects secretly planted bombs at gas stations in Yala, causing property damage. Four incidents were reported, with no initial reports of injuries.
On 11 Jan 2026 at approximately 01:14 GMT+7, the Special Operations Division of Yala Provincial Police reported that unknown suspects, of unspecified numbers, carried out bombings and arson attacks at gas stations and convenience stores at multiple locations in Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwat provinces.
In Yala province, there were four incident locations, as follows:
1. PTT gas station in Ban Nang Dama village, Kabang district, Yala province.
2. In front of the PTT gas station in Bannang Sata district, Yala province.
3. Inside the PTT gas station at Bukekala along the Yala–Raman road, Budi subdistrict, Mueang district, Yala province.
4. Inside the PTT gas station on road 418 (Pattani–Yala), inbound to Yala city, Tha Sap subdistrict, Mueang district, Yala province.
These incidents caused property damage. Initially, there were no reports of injuries or fatalities.
After the incidents, security officials secured the scene, cordoned off the areas for safety, and awaited forensic teams to conduct detailed investigations to determine the cause and gather evidence. Meanwhile, related agencies have increased security measures in nearby areas strictly.
Preliminary information indicates that at the PTT gas station on road 418 (Pattani–Yala), the suspects included young men riding motorcycles who stopped, fired shots into the air, then chased the gas station attendants away before planting three bombs at fuel dispensers. The explosions caused fires that destroyed the area.
Meanwhile, Mr. Kongsakul Chantrach, Governor of Yala province, visited the scene to inspect and ordered officials to maintain area control. Authorities will expedite investigations to track down the perpetrators and resolve the situation promptly, with updates to be provided.
