
Trat Province has released four Cambodian fishermen at the Ban Hat Lek permanent border crossing after they were detained by the Navy for illegal fishing in Thai waters.
This afternoon on 11 Jan 2026, reports confirmed the release of four Cambodian fishermen who were detained by the Navy since 6 Jan 2026 for illegal fishing in Thai waters. The four were handed over at the Ban Hat Lek permanent border crossing, after which Koh Kong provincial officials took custody to reunite them with their families.
In Tmoda, Botum Sakor Province, across from Ban Tha Sen in Trat Province on the Cambodian side, about 50% of residents have returned. However, some shops and dental clinics remain closed until the area is fully safe to reopen. The situation is expected to become lively again but will take some time.
