Dr. Wichian Chubthaisong, former president of the Lawyers Council, warned against believing fake news falsely claiming that he is the lawyer managing the estate of Major General Mom Chao Chulcherm Yukol, which has misled readers.
There have been false reports claiming to originate from Thairath online, Thairath newspaper, and various online media, stating that Dr. Wichian Chubthaisong is the lawyer handling Major General Mom Chao Chulcherm Yukol's estate, causing public misunderstanding.
Regarding this matter, in January 2026, Dr. Wichian Chubthaisong, former president of the Lawyers Council, clarified that these claims are entirely untrue. The news citing Thairath online and using his name was fabricated by scammers.
Dr. Wichian said he wants to alert the public to the dangers posed by scammers, who operate by all means to appear credible. They use various methods for profit, including soliciting investments, tricking people into transferring money for online purchases, lending scams, romance scams, phishing links for transactions, and fraudulently offering legal assistance—incidents that occur daily. He personally has been impersonated by scammers claiming to be investors in gold stocks, causing victims to lose up to 30 million baht.
"To prevent further harm, I urge everyone not to believe false messages appearing in any media. Always verify the source or origin of such news to confirm its truthfulness. Check whether the news comes from the official news agency or directly from the person named, to obtain clear facts. Otherwise, you risk being deceived and losing money or property, causing damage. Please do not be easily convinced, do not be lenient, and do not be complacent. This will keep you safe from scams," Dr. Wichian said.
