Authorities Detain Frantic Woman Who Threw Brick at Police Car, Causing Damage in Front of Hospital

"Frantic woman" went on a rampage, smashing windows of public vehicles in front of a hospital, causing damage. It was discovered that the vehicle belonged to the police, who were there caring for a sick mother undergoing treatment at the hospital.

At 10:30 p.m. on 12 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Police Lieutenant Thirayothin Subsin, deputy patrol chief of Mueang Udon Thani Police Station, received a report from Romphotong Radio Center about a frantic woman smashing windows of public vehicles near Nong Prajak public park on Pho Niyom Road, opposite Udon Thani Hospital. Hospital security personnel had initially restrained the woman, prompting police patrol unit 191 to rush to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers found a woman approximately 25-30 years old exhibiting frantic behavior, shouting loudly and continuously. She refused to explain the cause or reveal her name. Officers observed a bronze-gray sedan with its left front windshield smashed by a hard object. A bystander recorded video footage of the woman committing the act.

While officers were detaining the woman to place her in a police pickup truck, the sedan’s owner arrived at the scene. The owner told police that after finishing work, he had just parked the car there briefly to care for his hospitalized mother. Upon learning of the incident, he hurried to check on his car.

Seeing the perpetrator was mentally unstable, he asked the police to take her to Udon Thani Hospital for treatment to improve her condition. Once stabilized, she will undergo drug testing again, after which relatives will be contacted to take her in and legal procedures will follow.
