On 14 Jan 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that a construction crane from the high-speed rail project fell onto a passing train near Ban Thanon Khot, Sikhio Subdistrict, Sikhio District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The accident caused a fire and derailment. It is initially estimated that about 20 people are injured and trapped inside. Emergency medical teams and rescuers are currently providing assistance at the scene.
