Recommended Detour Routes Due to Crane Collapse Closing Main Lanes on Rama 2 Road Inbound and Outbound

Highway police recommend detour routes to avoid traffic jams on Rama 2 Road after a construction crane collapsed before the Tha Chin River Bridge in Mueang District, Samut Sakhon, closing the main lanes both inbound and outbound.

On 15 Jan 2026 GMT+7, a construction crane collapsed on Rama 2 Road between km 28-30 before crossing the Tha Chin River Bridge in Mueang District, Samut Sakhon, as previously reported.

Following the incident, the Highway Police Division announced the closure of the main lanes for both inbound and outbound traffic, advising drivers to use the parallel lanes as a temporary route.

For outbound traffic, drivers are directed to enter the parallel lanes at km 25 near Porto Chino. If accessing the Krathum Baen interchange, they should use Setthakit Road to exit onto Phetkasem Road. For inbound traffic, drivers should exit the parallel lanes at km 31, make a U-turn under the Tha Chin Bridge, and then take Ban Phaeo Road.

Authorities also advised avoiding the Ban Phaeo route near km 38. Travelers coming from Pak Tho, Ratchaburi, are advised to avoid entering Mueang Samut Songkhram and instead use Phetkasem Road.
