Forensic Team Investigates Cause of Fire at Former Sisaket Police Commander’s House Over 20 Fire Engines Mobilized to Extinguish Blaze

The Ubon Ratchathani forensic team is currently investigating the cause of a fire at the home of Pol. Maj. Gen. Pinit Faengyong, former provincial police commander of Sisaket. More than 20 fire engines were mobilized to extinguish the blaze that destroyed the entire house.

On 18 January 2026 in Ubon Ratchathani, reporters reported that at 20:20 on 17 Jan 2026, the 191 Radio Center in Ubon Ratchathani received a report of a fire at a two-story residence inside Chayangkul Soi 28, Nai Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang Ubon Ratchathani District.

After receiving the report, firefighters from the Ubon Ratchathani Municipality, the Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Administrative Organization, and nearby fire units were dispatched to the scene.

The fire occurred at a two-story house, No. 54, Chayangkul Soi 28, Nai Mueang Subdistrict. Flames were burning on the second floor and spreading rapidly. Firefighters mobilized over 20 fire engines from Warin Chamrap Municipality, Wing 21 firefighting unit, and nearby areas to extinguish the fire. It took about two hours to bring the blaze under control.

A bystander reported that the house belonged to Pol. Maj. Gen. Pinit Faengyong, former provincial police commander of Sisaket. At the time of the fire, three people were inside — including the housekeeper and Pol. Maj. Gen. Pinit. Initial reports confirmed all three escaped the burning house and were taken to hospital by emergency responders.

The preliminary cause of the fire remains unclear. Witnesses reported hearing two explosions inside the house before the fire broke out on the second floor, prompting them to call 191 and summon the fire department. The exact cause will be determined after interviews with the residents and a thorough investigation by the Ubon Ratchathani forensic team.
