Chong Chom Customs Collaborates with Chong Sa-ngam to Tighten Control over Three Border Areas in Four Lower Isan Provinces Against Border Threats

Chong Chom Customs has responded to government policy by joining forces with Chong Sa-ngam Customs to tighten control over three border areas in four lower Isan provinces, emphasizing protection of society from all forms of border threats.

Mr. Prasit Deejongjaroen, head of Chong Chom Customs, revealed that although clashes between Thailand and Cambodia had subsided before the start of 2026, the government continues to place great importance on and closely monitor the situation. Mr. Phanthong Loykulnan, Director-General of the Customs Department; Ms. Suntareeya Twichaprasit, Deputy Director-General; and Ms. Lalita Atthapimon, Director of Customs Region 2, have emphasized that customs checkpoints along the Cambodian border must exercise increased strictness, especially regarding security and public welfare issues.

Mr. Prasit added that due to concerns from both the government and the Customs Department, he has expedited integration between Chong Chom Customs and Chong Sa-ngam Customs, which oversee four provinces: Sisaket (Chong Sa-ngam), Surin (Chong Chom), Buriram (Chong Sai Taku), and Nakhon Ratchasima. This aims to enable close exchange of intelligence information across all dimensions to prevent goods potentially used in cross-border fraud from slipping out from Cambodia's strongholds.

“Please be assured that the three border areas in the four lower Isan provinces under the supervision of these two customs checkpoints will be strictly enforced to combat all forms of border threats, as part of protecting society and our fellow citizens,” Mr. Prasit concluded.
