Police Hunt Suspect Who Beat Female Hotel Staff to Death with Iron Rod in Hua Hin, Then Stole Belongings and Fled

Police are searching for a suspect who used an iron rod to violently strike a female employee of a prominent Hua Hin hotel late at night before stealing her belongings and fleeing. The suspect has a prior record of assault and sexual offenses.

On 20 Jan 2026, reports indicated that at approximately 03:15 on 19 Jan, police received a report that a female employee of a hotel in Hua Hin district, Prachuap Khiri Khan province, had been attacked. She was found collapsed in a pool of blood inside the hotel counter area. Authorities and the Sawang Tham Sathan Hua Hin Foundation responded to the scene.

At the scene, the hotel’s night shift receptionist was found lying on her back with blood stains. Nearby, a gray metal rod about 50 centimeters long, stained with blood, was discovered.

Investigators reviewed the hotel’s CCTV footage and saw a man approximately 160 to 180 centimeters tall, with dark skin, wearing a black jacket, white pants, and orange shoes. He was seen circling the area around the counter multiple times before the incident. The employee had been video calling her boyfriend at 02:49 before collapsing onto the desk.

The suspect then climbed over the counter and repeatedly struck the victim’s head with the iron rod. Afterward, he took two phones and the victim’s black bag before fleeing the scene.

Police matched the suspect’s image with their personal data system and identified him as 36-year-old Rattikorn Yingyod, who has a prior conviction for assault and sexual offenses.

The Hua Hin police investigator compiled evidence and obtained an arrest warrant from the Hua Hin Provincial Court. The warrant, number J.15/2569, was issued on 19 January 2026 at 22:00 to detain Rattikorn Yingyod for legal proceedings.

Most recently, Police Colonel Kampanat Na Wichai, Chief of Hua Hin Police Station, stated that police teams from Hua Hin, provincial investigators, and the Provincial Police Region 7 are coordinating to track down the suspect, who has fled toward Nong Khon.
